Helping hands at Island Harvest.

On August 20th, 2026, Meenan Wantagh team members Dave Cooperman, Chris Behren and Katelyn Nobile, volunteered with Island Harvest Food Bank, a leading hunger relief organization on Long Island. The team supported a walk up, market style food distribution center by setting up the area, helping clients select and bag food, and bringing items and prepacked boxes to carts and cars. They also assisted with cleanup once the distribution ended.

Their work reflects who we are as a company – committed to giving back and supporting the communities we serve.

Island Harvest

Island Harvest has become Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization. They deliver millions of pounds of good, surplus food – much of which might otherwise go to waste – to a network of 570 Long Island-based food pantries, soup kitchens and other non-profit organizations that offer feeding services for those in need. By doing this, they provide a vital supply of food to counter the sharply rising problem of hunger on Long Island.
